The Chinese are a bit hesitant to come to Turkey due to the terrorist attacks, mainly occurred in 2016. The most significant concern is safety.

The authority of the Chinese government in the country is very powerful. The party is the absolute sovereign of the people, and the directing effect is very high. The Chinese government does not support openly going to Turkey for now. Statements of government officials through the press or making things easier for Turkey`s promotional activities will almost certainly blow up the number of Chinese tourists in 2018, as it was in 2015. But the concerns of the Chinese authorities and tourists have not been overcome. Withdrawing state of emergency from shelves may be an excellent step to attract more tourists.
To reach significant numbers, the number of Chinese tourists coming to Turkey to China’s business. As seen in the example of China, South Korea, it uses the people who go abroad with its tourism activities as a political power element. It can threaten to reduce the number of Chinese tourists when they have problems with the countries. The soft spot of the China-Turkey relations is the Uighur issue. If the Uighur issue becomes a problem between China and Turkey, China will use this card without hesitation.
